Artworks in Museum Collections

by | Mar 8, 2016 | Studio News

We have been traveling this winter, visiting in Cuba last month and in Las Vegas and Phoenix this month.  Maybe more on Cuba later! While in Phoenix, though, I was able to attend the 58th Annual Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair and Market (wonderful works, especially jewelry and ceramics) and to visit the Arizona State University Art Museum’s Ceramic Research Center in Tempe, AZ.  The Center has such a fabulous collection of 4300 pieces of contemporary ceramics!  I was pleased to confirm that an earlier piece of mine, the “Value of a Variable (c) from 1979 is in their collection. The piece was donated to the museum by a collector in Phoenix in 1983.  Other pieces from the series including “Clip” and “Helter Skelter” are in the collections of the Smithsonian Institute and the Erie Art Museum. I am very happy they have such good homes and are in such good company!
